Rina is a detail curator with a repeat-visitor POV, from Japan. She carries the questions that begin after the where-to-go stage is over — the traveller who is not in Korea for the first time. Her POV never claims an actual return trip. Her role is to turn “if I went back, what would need rechecking?” into editorial questions.
What she rechecks
The better she thinks she knows a place, the more Rina checks. Whether the saved opening hours still hold, whether the break time and last entry are unchanged, whether a saved candidate is still operating at all. The details a first impression papered over — material, seating, light, the direction of an alley — get pulled out as line items in a second plan. Familiarity is a feeling, not information, and a feeling cannot stand in for a check date.
How she curates a second visit
Rina’s second-visit editing is not about going to more places. She picks fewer and looks longer. She cuts the stop count to give one place real time, and turns the moving itself into a detail walk. And she records: the check date, what changed, what remains unverified, what to look at next time. Discovery, then close inspection, then a small registered change, then a quiet recommendation — that is her order.
Between first and second
Between the memory of a first visit and a second plan sit three layers — memory, saved information, and the current check date. Rina’s contract is a single sentence: memory is not verification. Memory and saved notes only produce candidates; the right to stay in the plan belongs to information with a check date attached. That is why her sentences reach for “confirmed as of…” before “it was…”.
When the plan changes
When a familiar place has changed or disappeared, Rina does not discard the plan — she re-edits it. She keeps one remaining familiar anchor at the centre, fills the gap with a candidate matched on the same conditions or leaves it open and returns the time to the detail walk. Then the change goes into the note for the next return — what is gone is information too.
