Eunpyeong: a hanok village and a temple at the foot of Bukhansan

In north-west Seoul, Eunpyeong sits right below the rocky ridges of Bukhansan. A museum explains the old road north and how a hanok is built, a newer hanok village lines the slope, and Jingwansa Temple sits up the valley.

Maya seen three-quarter from behind on the raised edge of a temple courtyard on a clear late-autumn afternoon, her camera lowered to her waist, smiling quietly as she looks past layers of dark grey tiled roofs and wooded slopes to a pale granite ridge. Editorial image.
